About us

About us

The team behind Joos founded their company on the premise of bringing great technology from the Far East to Western markets. The concept of shared power is massive in Hong Kong and Japan, with two unicorns already produced. Joos is poised to become the Western leader in out-of-home charging, replacing older static solutions such as charging lockers.

Joos is sending big jolts through the market by taking portable power tech used in the Far East and adapting it for the West, earning glowing coverage in major publications such as UKTN and Forbes. For over a decade, the West has wasted hours searching for power sockets and standing still at charging points. Joos is finally plugging us into a new era where customers and companies can all stay fully charged.

Sustainability

Sustainable charging solutions

Joos has the power. And we mean that in every sense.

With full ownership of the supply chain - and sustainability officers working in the West and East - we have complete control over how our products are designed and distributed. That means power sharing with Joos stays green - from start to finish.

DOING OUR BIT

Partners in Power

Joos doesn’t just share power. We share the profit. Through the Charge4Good initiative, Joos partners pick a worthy cause, and we donate a portion of funds from charging stations to those in need.

Frequently Asked Questions

Having Joos in your venue can bring several benefits to your business, such as driving footfall through your door and increasing customers’ dwell time.

Our prices vary by location, but they are always clearly advertised on our screens or in our app.

Before they rent, customers are prompted to link a payment card. They can also use Apple Pay or Google pay. If they are renting from our Joos Maxes, then they have the option to use our contactless payment terminal.

They can pick up a power bank at one Joos Box & drop it off at another, even between venues and destinations. If the customer never returns it, after reaching and paying $30 with multiple daily caps, they can keep the power bank.

The speed varies depending on the size and condition of the phone’s battery. A good benchmark is the ‘iPhone X’ can charge to 60% within an hour, and 100% within 2 hours.

Power banks are in constant circulation between Joos Boxes, so don’t worry if they drop low one moment as they will likely fill up again naturally. However, our smart system notifies our support team to arrange replenishment. You don’t need to contact us, we’ve got you covered 😉

No, customers don’t need the app anymore to be able to rent a power bank. It is good to have if they want to see their order details or take advantage of our promotions.

Customers can rent a power bank by simply scanning the QR code on the Joos box and tapping “Rent now” on their phone screen once they’ve linked their payment method. The power bank then pops out from the Joos box fully charged and ready to use.

Or on our contactless payment enabled Joos boxes they can rent by pressing the green button on the terminal and tapping their card.

Our power banks don’t have GPS tracking, but we can monitor a power bank’s journey between Joos Boxes, and which customers they’re loaned to.

We have a 24/7 live chat in the Joos app and on our website, joospower.com – it’s the best way to offer customers all the support they’ll ever need.

We fully manage replenishment and maintenance through our team of Brand Ambassadors and service partners, all included in the service.

The only time your team might need to contact us, is if your Joos Box becomes damaged…

You hold NO LIABILITY for any damage or losses incurred to and Joos product (box or power banks). We also hold full public liability insurance.

Please contact our support team at operations@joospower.com as soon as you can and we’ll arrange for someone to tend to the device. Emailing photographs to help us understand the level of damage will be super useful to restoring it quickly.

Simply drop us a message at venues@joospower.com or reach out to our Customer Support team through our website and the team will arrange the removal of your box at the earliest convenience.
